Bonnie Moore is the Library Coordinator for both the Polk and Gordon County Campus Libraries. She has worked in GNTC libraries since 2000, and received her Master's Degree in Library Science from Valdosta State in 2012. Bonnie's favorite thing about working in libraries is helping students. She is an expert quilter and also enjoys spending time with her pets, a yorkiepoo named Little Lucy Lu Who and a yellow tabby cat named Mr. Murphy.
John Lassiter is the Director of Library Services. He received his Master’s in Library Science from Clark Atlanta University and has worked as a Librarian for 35 years, the last 10 of which have been at Georgia Northwestern Technical College. John originally hails from Columbus, GA. His favorite travel destination is Pensacola, FL. John enjoys reading about Russian history.
Julie Norman is the Library Coordinator at the Whitfield Murray Campus in Dalton. She holds a master’s degree in Library Science from Clarion University of Pennsylvania and has been a librarian for 13 years. Julie admits to being the stereotypical librarian who has cats and loves to read. She has 3 cats – Pompom, Max, and Ender – and her favorite book is Till We Have Faces by C.S. Lewis.
Pete Bursi is the Library Coordinator at the Walker Campus Library. He received his Master’s Degree in Library Science from The State University of New York at Albany, founded by Melvil Dewey, who was famous for creating the Dewey Decimal Classification system. Pete’s favorite thing about being a librarian is teaching students how to use library resources for research. He is an avid New York Yankees fan and his favorite book is Ladies and Gentlemen, the Bronx is Burning: 1977, Baseball, Politics, and the Battle for the Soul of a City by Jonathan Mahler. Pete is also a fan of hockey and Montreal is his favorite travel destination.
Stephen Meeks received his Master’s in Library Science from San Jose State University and has been employed at GNTC for 18 years. Stephen’s favorite thing about being a librarian is conducting research. He has two female Cocker Spaniels named Peanut and Dumpling and a 200-gallon salt water reef tank. His favorite book is The Lord of the Rings and his favorite place to travel is Venice, Italy.
